still back in brunei

hi hi ….am so soree for not updating my page recently….no..i did not drop off the face of the earth suddenly… hehee.. cos i am actually still in brunei for my CNY holidays with ooi and dylan….and i do not have any internet connection or access in my brunei home…

am having a really wonderful time with my parents here…helping them to take care of their small mini mart….but i managed to sneak a bit of time out now to update my blog

dylan’s also adjusting veree well here…he really likes it here….he’s babbling much more now…

shall try to update my blog when i go back to msia this coming weekend..am already feeling really sad abt my leaving my parents here again sigh….

it’s really late now and i  bnow at a cafe in brunei with ooi, using their wifi to go online..he on his laptop and me on my daddy’s laptop…

Mr. Independent?

Dylan’s approaching his 19-month in just another 2 weeks time…

He’s no longer the little, helpless baby that i thought he was…

Now, just before his 19-month, he’s already showing me lots of signs what his character is like…

and let’s just say, he’s not like his daddy… hahahaha

He’s headstrong (in uglier words, stubborn) like me….

He’s expressive like me (means, he shows his wants or dilikes, happiness or sadness openly)….

He’s cheeky like me (loves playing tricks on others…hahahah…this is the one trait i am proud of)…

Last weekend, my sister and i brought him to Pavillion (my fav shopping mall!!!!)…this boy no longer sits in strollers…in fact, Ooi and I have permanently removed the stroller from our cars for several months now…Dylan insists on either walking like us, or be treated like a king and demands on us carrying him around…and i tell you, it is indeed not easy lugging a 11+ kg toddler around for hours…

He also insists on feeding himself…using the adult’s utensils!!! it’s always a mess by the time we leave any restaurant…i have already lost track of the number of times i apologise to the workers in the restaurants *slap head on forehead*

my boy is indeed becoming mr.independent…and that’s why i love him so much…hehehe

i feel so bad for neglecting my blog for so many weeks now…i’ve been so busy in the office recently and been staying til quite late too…urrghhh..and then when i leave the office, i keep getting stuck in the traffic jam (which seems to be getting worse as the CNY is approaching)

rite now, i m sneaking a bit of time to update my blog…its been ages since i even visit other blogs..haha

how i wish i was like my son…who always seems to have time to enjoy at home….check him in the following pictures ofhim which i took over the weekend…

recently, my father-in-law kept commenting how worried he was, whenever dylan was laughing and running at the same time…

at first,both ooi and i did not understand his concern…so when we decided to ask him to elaborate more…he said it was because dylan doesn’t look at where he is running whenever he is laughing…we were like ???huh???

so, both ooi and i started to observe dylan..and now we understand why….whenever dylan laughs, his eyes are ‘almost’ shut most of the time…

Milestones @17 months, 2 weeks

wow…it’s already the 5th day of the new year…

i’ve been busy recently..entertaining friends from overseas, attending weddings, etc…so busy, i haven’t had time to update my blog at all (not that many ppl will miss it)…

so, finally, today i decided to sneak a bit of my ‘office time’ to update this measly blog of mine…

anyway…so as i mentioned earlier, i was entertaining a lot of friends whom i have not met for a long time..for many of them, it was their first time seeing baby dylan too…and i must say, one of the most common comment i got from them was “He’s so big already”, or “He’s so tall”, or “He looks just like Ooi”!!

and i must admit, indeed my son is starting to look more and more like his daddy…i am feeling slightly jealous about this..hahaha…i know its silly…hahaha…well..i can be quite silly after all..

but yea..dylan is getting bigger….so i will jot down for the very first time some of the notable milestones that my son can do now, for remembrance purposes:

1) he can now say papa very well…doesnt really want to call me mama *sigh*…he can say words like mum mum (for food), nen nen (for milk), ball, bubble..

2) he can identify and differentiate between different cartoon characters he likes like mickey mouse, pocoyo, little einsteins, barney and thomas the train ….recently, he has fallen in love with Hi5…he would sit down quietly in front of the TV watching Hi5 for a good 30 minutes without moving!!!! yes…he is a TV addict tat’s wat u get when u are working full time and your maid lets your son watch TV almost all day long…

3) he loves music a lot and his favourite songs are “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands”, “Itsy Weensy spider”, “I Love you, you love me” , “Twinkle, twinkle little star” and “Happy Birthday”…hahaha..he’ll even do some of the actions we taught him…

4) He is starting to imitate things that people do…for instance, when we ask him “how ah kong (grandpa) sleep?”, he’ll pretend to snore…

5) he loves to eat everything we eat…especially pasta!!! he can even nibble off the corn on a corn cob on his own..!!

6) he loves to push the furniture in my house around…because he is a very strong fella!! he’ll move the chairs at home, his small study table and all…

7) he loves to go kai kai and knows when we are going to go kai kai..and he’ll cry if we do not bring him with us…gone are the days when we could get someone else to distract his attention while me and Ooi sneaked out…

there are probably many more things to jot down, but i cannot remember at the moment…but this boy of ours..he’s really growing up…he’s getting to be more and more fun to be with…haha..of cos, not everyday is a bed of roses..there are days when he drives me up the wall…but still, i love him so much…

how can one not love this face?? hehe..

christmas is literally just a few more days away…

and over the long weekend, Ooi finally set up the Christmas tree at home…and lil Dylan was super excited while we were putting up the tree and hanging the decorations…

he even posed for us when we wanted to take a picture of him and the tree …

many at times, when i read other mummy’s blog, i cannot help but feel a twinge of guilt..

most mummies are so disciplined in how they raise their kids…

while i try my best, there are so many times, i just give into what my son wants…

for instance, this….

my son’s munching away mummy’s current favourite green tea cake from RT Pastry…

*sigh* so young, and i am already letting him munch away watever he wants ..haha..dunno to laff or to cry now ^_^
